Visualization (or visualisation), also known as graphics visualization, is any technique for creating images, diagrams, or animations to communicate a message. Visualization through visual imagery has been an effective way to communicate both abstract and concrete ideas since the dawn of humanity. Examples from history include cave paintings, Egyptian hieroglyphs, Greek geometry, and Leonardo da Vinci's revolutionary methods of technical drawing for engineering purposes that actively involve scientific requirements.[i]
απεικόνιση, οραματισμός, οπτική αναπαράσταση, νοερή απεικόνιση are the top translations of "visualization" into Greek. The act of visualizing, or something visualized. [..] computing: the visual representation of data [..] And here, you can actually see how visualization is being used.[ii]
Creative visualization (sports visualization) refers to the practice of seeking to affect the outer world via changing one's thoughts. Creative Visualization is the basic technique underlying positive thinking and is frequently used by athletes to enhance their performance. The concept originally arose in the US with the nineteenth century New Thought movement.
One of the first Americans to
practice the technique of creative visualization was Wallace Wattles
(1860–1911), who wrote The Science of Getting Rich. In this book, Wattles
advocates creative visualization as the main technique for realizing one's
goals; a practice that stems from the Hindu Monistic theory of the Universe
that is subscribed to by the book.[iii]
Using clever and deceptive words, anyone who has a world view away from the Bible, can blur moral issues and excuse their sin. When we look around the Globe we observe this much more than yesterday! They look at their own evil and call it good, and they look at the good of others and call it evil.
Think about this! Creative visualization is the technique of using one's imagination to visualize specific behaviors or events occurring in one's life. Advocates suggest creating a detailed schema of what one desires and then visualizing it over and over again with all of the senses (i.e., what do you see? what do you feel? what do you hear? what does it smell like?). This is the norm in psychotherapeutic solutions of feeling with people and their trauma in a nut-shell.
This is dangerous and we Christians are called to be alert to this is; ‘New Age’ Techniques. The above is evil and one of the major deceptions of the “end times.” Isaiah is describing a deep state of moral confusion. They were full of pride and rejected the wisdom and standards of God.
Isa: 5:20-22. Tells us woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, and those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.
“They flatter themselves by
imagining that what is sin is not sin, or by some excuse or idle pretence they
lessen its enormity. These, then, are cords, wicked ropes, by which they draw iniquity.” (Calvin)
“With vain and deceitful arguments and pretences, whereby sinners generally draw themselves to sin.” (Poole)
We are called to live by the Spirit and put off the acts of the former sinful nature and seek the fruit of the Spirit; Gal: 5:19-26. Bible says in the last days even the elect will be deceived. Let us not be content to be an immature Christian, as was the case with many Hebrew believers! Heb: 5:11- 6:4.
Abundant life is with God the Father, through
Lord Jesus Christ because He is the way the truth and the life. And only His
Spirit will be able to guide and lead us in this path of truth.
