Emotional healing- Prayer

Emotional abuse is difficult to define and many cases are never reported; nevertheless, it's clear that this form of destructive behaviour is based on power and control. An emotionally abusive person may dismiss your feelings and needs, expect you to perform humiliating or unpleasant tasks, manipulate you into feeling guilty for trivial things, belittle your outside support system or blame you for unfortunate circumstances in his or her life. Jealousy, possessiveness and mistrust characterize an emotionally abusive person1.

Widely recognized signs of emotional abuse include: rejecting, degrading, terrorizing, isolating, exploiting, and detaching. Some examples of emotional abuse are mentioned below:

Denying someone access to other relationships. Taunting on the playground; yelling degrading remarks; downplaying accomplishments; threatening to take the children away and we can name more. From bullying and manipulative mind games to sexual harassment and elder care neglect, emotional and verbal abuse is rampant in our society. No one is immune from encountering abusive people, but everyone can make healthy choices to end destructive relationship patterns2.
Apart from making healthy choices we have a great God, (especially if the abuser also belongs to the church hold of God) who empathizes and sympathizes with our entire situation, and we can go to Him in prayer for wisdom, discernment and for making right choices in varied situations. I have a prayer below, which could be personalized and used and this prayer is for God’s glory and honor.
Prayer
Dear Father in heaven, we come to Your throne room of grace knowing that Jesus when He was on this earth was abused, degraded, bullied, down played of all His Godly statements even name called as Beelzebub. The finale was when Jesus was hanging on the cross, He was yelled at with degrading remarks. “And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross” Matt: 27:40. It is not surprising as believers we go through some aspect of it in this earth, at the same time it is overwhelming and very disheartening and painful when we go through it.
(Emotionally abusive spouse)
We come to You as a broken person, because of the physical and emotional scars of an abusive spouse have battered us to the point of despondency, and we pray for Your Divine protection and intervention. We are in need of You and we are desperate for You. Lord You have said in Your Word, what God has joined together let not man separate and we pray that You would give a hedge of protection around our families; 10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. Job 1:10. Shield us from further harm and may we find favor before You so that our family will not be dysfunctional but be encouraged by Your love and by Your Word.
Lord it is written in Your Word, that You will bless the righteous and will protect him; 12 For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield;Ps:5:12. We pray for our spouse who was entangled in the spirit of iniquity, bondage of sin and corruption, anger, violence and bitterness. Satan is a liar and thief from the very beginning and he wants to destroy family unity as he has done in the Garden of Eden itself. Lord we pray, according to Your Word for abundant life in the life our spouse and our family; 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly; Jn: 10:10.
Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency;1 Cori:7:3-5.

As according to Your Word, we pray for peace in our family and relationship between husband and wife so our relationship would be God honouring. We pray for peace, harmony, calmness, and self-control in the abuser so that he or she may learn to love not only in word but also in deed and in truth; 18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth; 1 Jn:3:18. Change the heart of the abuser (my spouse) Oh! Lord so that their eyes are opened to the truth and transplant within them a heart of flesh instead of a heart of stone; 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh; Ez: 36:26.

We pray that the enemy will not condemn us for ever and give us guilt continuously; 1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit; Rom 8:1. Lord You have said in Your Word, that You are a God of generations and You have blessed Abraham through generations because of the covenant which You made between Abraham. We pray today that we would be God honouring in all of our ways, and if there is any generational pattern of sin which follows in our family, we pray and ask that You would uproot it completely so that we will be genuine household of God.

Dear God, as marriage is a covenant between two parties, and heavenly Father is the genuine bride giver, we pray earnestly for Your Divine intervention. We pray for repentance and restoration on both sides, for the abuser and the offender and bring restoration to our marriage. Thank You for affirming Your love even for the evil doer in Your word; 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Ez: 33:11.

We pray for any venomous arrows that would have pierced the heart of the abused person in the relationship, which could destroy the soul if not guarded against the atoning blood of Jesus Christ and we ask for healing and atonement; But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isa: 53:5. We are assured in Your promises, that You are our hiding place, You preserve us from trouble, and You would surround us with songs of deliverance whenever we call upon You;  Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah; Psa: 32:7.

When we are conflicted, and confounded You are our only refuge and shelter and only One who is able to bring us out of those confusion and instill within us strength necessary for those situations; 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephe: 6:13. We pray for courage so we can confide with some one who is a burden bearer; 22 without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established; Prov: 15:22; so we can move with wisdom and discernment from here.
We want to sing the wondrous story of Jesus and His life giving hope to others who walk through overwhelming perilous situations. We pray and ask You would bestow on us beauty for ashes, oil of joy for mourning, garment of praise for heaviness, and may we be called a tree of righteousness and planting of the Lord;  The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. Isa: 61:1-3.
Now we pray: 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Emotional health vs. spiritual health

Recently quite a bit of study has been going on in the field of relationship between emotional abuse and mental health.  No one wants to hear the word ‘abuse’ in a relationship, and every one wants to deny the word ‘abuse’ in a relationship. The relationship can be spousal, or friends, parents or children or office mates, or any working relationship. Berating, belittling, criticizing, name calling, screaming, threatening, excessive blaming, and using sarcasm and humiliation are some forms of emotional abuse.  Blowing your flaws out of proportion and making fun of you in front of others, is another form of emotional abuse. Over time, this type of abuse erodes your sense of self confidence and self-worth. No one has the right to do this to some one because as believers our self-worth and self-esteem comes from the Lord, because we are children of God, who is the master artist Who formed us in our mother’s womb and called us by name.

Verbal Assaults can happen the following ways and this can over a period of time destroy one’s value and self-worth. Very often people who verbally assault the others are very insecure people and they have done this when they were young and this continued in their adulthood. Abusers project their words and actions very often towards a non-suspecting victim, because they are hurt from child hood and have not dealt with the wounds in a matured way so far. They now become abusers and do it to others and this has developed to a pattern of abuse. Emotionally wounded victim wounds others and victimize people around them and very often they could be close relations or some family members or we can find such people even in work places. If it happens in a spousal relationship we need extra vigilance, and strength from God to be wise and put some boundaries with clever choices.
“All forms of abuse follow a pattern that, left unchecked, will only increase over time1.”

              Definitions of emotional abuse:
Denying someone access to other relationships. Taunting on the playground yelling degrading remarks; downplaying accomplishments; threatening to take the children away. From bullying and manipulative mind games to sexual harassment and elder care neglect, emotional and verbal abuse is rampant in our society. No one is immune from encountering abusive people, but everyone can make healthy choices to end destructive relationship patterns2. by Beth J. Lueders

Emotional abuse is difficult to define and many cases are never reported; nevertheless, it's clear that this form of destructive behavior is based on power and control. An emotionally abusive person may dismiss your feelings and needs, expect you to perform humiliating or unpleasant tasks, manipulate you into feeling guilty for trivial things, belittle your outside support system or blame you for unfortunate circumstances in his or her life. Jealousy, possessiveness and mistrust characterize an emotionally abusive person3. by Beth J. Lueders

Some recent reports:

77% of women reported emotional abuse in combination with physical abuse. In one Canadian study on abuse in university and college dating relationships, 81% of male respondents reported that they had psychologically abused a female partner.

In 1995, a study of seniors' client records from various agencies across Canada found that psychological abuse was the most prevalent form of abuse. The 1990 National Survey on Abuse of the Elderly in Canada estimated that:

- 4% of seniors residing in private homes reported experiencing abuse and/or neglect;

- Questions about insults, swearing and threats were asked as a measure of chronic verbal aggression. The study showed that 1.4% of seniors experienced these forms of emotional abuse in the year prior to the study; and

- Chronic verbal aggression ranked as the second most prevalent form of mistreatment following material abuse.

It is also important to know two terms which are boundaries and differentiation of self.

Boundaries: It is also becoming more and more important that when we live as a family unit, it is important to establish the necessary boundaries. If not one will have no idea where to begin and where to end, and it becomes and increasingly confusing when dealing with delicate situations. As a result one who holds the power begins to rule and compromise and abuse becomes a norm and that becomes a normal way of life.

Differentiation of self [edit]

Differentiation of self is one's ability to separate one's own intellectual and emotional functioning from that of the family. Bowen spoke of people functioning on a single continuum or scale. Individuals with "low differentiation" are more likely to become fused with predominant family emotions. (A related concept is that of an undifferentiated ego mass, which is a family unit whose members possess low differentiation and therefore are emotionally fused.) Those with "low differentiation" depend on others' approval and acceptance. They either conform themselves to others in order to please them, or they attempt to force others to conform to themselves. They are thus more vulnerable to stress, defined as stressor(s) *and* psycho-physiological "stress reactivity," and theirs is a greater than average challenge to adjust/adapt to life changes and contrary beliefs.4

There are some verses which talk about emotional abuse in the Bible.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 1Cori:9:18.
Then said Saul to his armorbearer, “Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith, lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me.” But his armorbearer would not, for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword and fell upon it. 1Chro:10:4.
Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. 1 Sam: 31:4.
It is impossible to be spiritually mature, when one is emotionally immature, says Peter Scazzero, in his book on emotionally healthy Spirituality. It is important we become emotionally mature and well differentiated people (differentiation of self) when we are in a family unit facing people who are emotionally abusive. The question here would be: How do we become a well differentiated person in a family where at least one member is emotionally abusive, and grow in the Lord, and please the Lord? Below are some Scripture memory verses for emotional abuse.

Scripture memory verses for emotional abuse:
Romans: 8:15-16; 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
1 Peter: 2:24; 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Matthew: 8:16-17; 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
2 Corinthians 12:9; And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
James: 1:5; If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Philippians: 4:19; 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 10:13; 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
John 14:27; 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Psalm 34:17-20; 17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. 20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

1 Peter: 5:10; 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

If we read Genesis chapter 2 we begin to wonder about the creation of man. God when He created Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, He made them in His own image. “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7”- God formed man. In His own image He made them male and female. Man was created from the dust of the ground and not out of gold dust but the beauty of man’s creation was the master artist the Creator Who created with great accuracy and exactness. Man is created with body, soul and spirit and was created in the image of God. The most admirable part is the soul and it came immediately from God, and we believers call it as the breath of heaven.

Let us think about the soul which God gave for a minute. The soul is the man, because the body will be worthless, useless, loathsome carcass if the soul did not animate it. The soul is so noble, and only the One who made the soul is able to renew it. It is equally important to know and understand since the extraction of the soul is so noble, and its nature and faculties are so excellent, it should automatically focus our attention on the Creator who gave it to man. It is the soul of man that does especially bears the image of God, with its three noble faculties which are understanding, will and active power. The soul of man then is the brightest, clearest looking glass in nature in which to see God. So it becomes very necessary that we think of this when we speak to people and their feelings as equivalent to ours and think twice before we emotionally abuse others. We are responsible before God for our actions especially when we call ourselves as household of God.

Mending broken relationships-Prayer

Father You alone are the architect of all relationships and You formed the first relationship in the Garden of Eden between God and man and man and woman. The Fall came in Genesis chapter 3, and brought huge devastation to this wonderful relationship and as a result of this conflict, quarrels and divisions among brethren became more of a norm in this planet earth.

Thank You for giving Jesus Christ in our lives, who broke the wall of separation between God and man, and because of that the curse which happened at Garden of Eden is completely broken and we have a hope in Christ Jesus. Who can mend a broken Spirit? Who can bring healing and restoration apart from God who formed relationships in the Garden of Eden?

Father it is very disheartening, painful, frustrating and difficult when severe wounds have been inflicted either by words or occult done against us by family members or members of the church by their own choice. Lord it is to our glory to forgive the offender, but the painful memories of those events could severely haunt and destroy the person who was wounded unless for Christ and Christ alone.  Embrace us with Your grace and love so those wounds become less painful and we can walk victoriously in Christ Jesus.

Lord we are reminded of Your Word in Colossians 3:12-17;

12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

We pray that the Spirit of God, who is the perfect Counselor, would continue to minister to our aching heart and weed out areas which need attention and correction and bring us to that perfection and Your peace. Lord, time and again we are reinforced that we are human and we are limited in our ability and we are forced to look up! Grant us the capacity to assess ourselves with sober judgment so we can take responsibility for any wrong doing and we want to repent. Lord You have promised in Your Word that You will give grace abundantly to judge ourselves rightly in the Lord; For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith; Romans 12:3; KJV.

Loving Father, as You continue to soften our heart, we pray that You would soften the heart of our offenders and speak to them by the power of the Holy Spirit the areas they may have done to cause the division and conflict. If the hard words or occult done were spoken and done out of jealousy, we pray that You would continue to minister to their heart and give them a change of heart.  We refuse to usurp the power and work of Holy Spirit and we release them into Your hands. In our part give us grace abundantly so we would forgive them completely, and help us to grow in the fruit of the Spirit; “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”. Gal: 5:22-23; and replace all of our selfishness by the fruit of the Spirit.

Time and again we are reinforced that The ONE who is infinite and able is God alone in Christ Jesus who would help us and give us grace continuously in need especially when we face difficult relationships, destructive and sinful habits and other stresses in life which does not seem to part us very easily. We perfectly acknowledge that no matter what we face, mountains or mole hills, they can not be overcome without the intervention of a Loving Heavenly Father who alone has the ability to scale the unscalable!

We pray Oh! God that You would help us scale the unscalable through the precious blood which was shed for the remission of sins on Calvary by Jesus Christ. Through Him alone are redemption and sanctification and restoration to God, the Father Who is wise and all powerful. Lord we pray that if it is in Your will, bring the restoration of our relationship with the offender to bring glory and honor to Yourself. Thank You for the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit who is able to help every believer who calls upon God in Christ Jesus.

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and for ever; Amen; Jude:24-25.

(One can personalize this prayer for their situation: To God belongs glory and honor.)

Part E- Mystery of Relationship…

The beautiful first Divine Institution of marriage God made in the Garden of Eden became very corrupted and polluted because of man’s sinful choices.  The question here would be where is the perfect marriage and perfection and where is the hope for believers.

What is marriage supper of the Lamb?
Revelations chapter 19 has the following subheadings:
    • The church in heaven and that on earth triumph, and praise the Lord for his righteous judgments. (1-10)
    • A vision of Christ going forth to destroy the beast and his armies. (11-21)
Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Rev: 19:7-10; KJV.

Christ is the bridegroom of the Church, and the second union will be completed in heaven, where there will be reign of Christ and a state of happiness. This is considered as the celebration of His espousals on earth. The Bride of Christ, the Church appeared in fine linen, clean and white. The Church was robed in the righteousness of Christ, justified and sanctified. This is the marriage of the Lamb and blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. There is tremendous hope for believers in this earth who are waiting for this union, the true and perfect marriage, the Marriage of the Lamb. Then the church of Christ, being purified from errors, divisions, and corruptions, in doctrine, discipline, worship, and practice, will be made ready to be publicly owned by him as his delight and his beloved1. The Matthew Henry Study Bible. King James Version

The promises of the gospel, the true sayings of God, opened, applied, and sealed by the Spirit of God, in holy ordinances, are the marriage-feast. This seems to refer to the abundant grace and consolation Christians will receive in the happy days which are to come2. The Matthew Henry Study Bible. King James Version

God is faithful and true to His promises and He is righteous in all His judicial acts. The army He commands is a very large one, and angels and saints followed His conduct and resembled Him, that is believers who had a relationship with Him and followed His statues and ordinances are in this army of God. Those who molested the Church and walked in vanity and walked in their lusts and pleasures not following the ordinances of God are thrown in the lake of fire.

Christ, the glorious Head of the church, is described as on a white horse, the emblem of justice and holiness. He has many crowns, for he is King of kings, and Lord of lords. He is arrayed in vesture dipped in his own blood, by which he purchased his power as Mediator; and in the blood of his enemies, over whom he always prevails. His name is "The Word of God;" a name none fully knows but himself; only this we know, that this Word was God manifest in the flesh; but his perfections cannot be fully understood by any creature. Angels and saints follow, and are like Christ in their amour of purity and righteousness. The threatening of the written word he is going to execute on his enemies. The ensigns of his authority are his name; asserting his authority and power, warning the most powerful princes to submit or they must fall before him. The powers of earth and hell make their utmost effort. These verses declare important events, foretold by the prophets. These persons were not excused because they did what their leaders bade them. How vain will be the plea of many sinners at the great day! We followed our guides; we did as we saw others do! God has given a rule to walk by, in his word; neither the example of the most, nor of the chief, must influence us contrary thereto: if we do as the most do, we must go where the most go, even into the burning lake3. Mathew Henry Commentary on Revelations: 19:11-21.

New heavens and new earth: Revelations 21
This chapter has the following themes:
·         A new heaven and new earth: the new Jerusalem where God dwells, and banishes all sorrow from his people. (1-8)
·         Its heavenly origin, glory, and secure defense. (9-21)
·         Its perfect happiness, as enlightened with the presence of God and the Lamb, and in the free access of multitudes, made holy. (22-27)

By new heaves and new earth one may understand as new state off bodies of men, as well as heaven for their souls. The old world where we are now with all its commotions, trouble and conflict will vanish away. The New Jerusalem is the Church of God in its perfect state of beauty, wisdom and holiness. This will be ready for its Bridegroom who is our Lord Jesus Christ. So, in a nut shell, Revelations chapter 21, talks of the Church of God, the Bride, and the Bridegroom who is Jesus Christ. We have to be reminded from Scriptures in Ephesians 5, the Marriage: the Church and Christ.

The presence of God with His Church is the glory of the church. One may wonder how a Holy God would dwell with the children of men. The presence of God in the new heaven and new earth with men will be continuous, and their souls will be assimilated with Him, filled with His love, honour and delight in God. These are the people of God, who have gone through so much trials and tribulation in the old earth, and are bought and redeemed, with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

In this new and blessed state people will be free from trouble and sorrow and pain. All the effects of former trouble will be done away and their tears will be wiped away and they have no remembrance of their pain and sorrow any more. Those who inherit the new heaven and new earth where there is no more sorrow are given the title true and faithful. God is the author and finisher of our life, and He is the ALPHA and OMEGA. Those who have been thirsting for this sinless perfection and the uninterrupted enjoyment of God, are brought to this place according to their desiring hearts.

The multitudes who are sealed on this earth, by His precious blood, the saved souls are the inhabitants of this city, New Jerusalem, and they represent people of all nations. These saints will have no impure things residing in them, and no impure person is admitted to this place. In the physical church in today’s context on this earth, there are impure people, who profane the ordinances of God, and prostituted the church by worldly ends. Those who come to the New Jerusalem are reserved, chosen, and faithful and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of life and are visible in this Church.

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen; Rev: 22:20-21; KJV. This is Christ’s farewell to His Church, and he parts with them in great kindness and assures them that it shall not be long before He comes again to them. Nothing should be more desired by us than the grace of Christ may be with us in this world to prepare us for the glory of Christ in the new earth and the new heavens.

The Bible starts with a definite first Divine Institution in the Garden of Eden; which became imperfect and corrupted because of the tempter and the wilful yielding in their choice. Again in the New Testament, God’s word definitely gives us instructions for this mysterious relationship of marriage and related that to Christ and the church. Apostle Paul calls this as a mystery. The Bible finishes with a perfect marriage that is the wedding of the Lamb, where the saved souls are in Union with Christ, which is a mystery again. May the god of glory give us His peace and understanding as we read the Scriptures, and may He not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly.

May God help us to understand scriptures the way it was written; inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is useful for knowing what is right (teaching), pointing out what is not right (rebuke), making things right (correction) and helps us to stay right (training in righteousness) - 2 Timothy 3:16-17. The Word of God, by the Spirit and power of God, will help us build a healthy world view and we begin to see circumstances differently, from a perspective that the world may not teach.
